Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication method that enables users to securely access multiple applications and services using one set of credentials, eliminating the need to remember different passwords for each service.
As today employees are used working remotely or having flex office spaces, they are relying on software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications like MS Teams, Slack, Zoom and Retailware. SSO provides a simple pop-up or login page with just one password that provides access to every integrated app maintained by the own IT-organization.

SSO puts an end to the days of remembering – or reading it from a sticky note -and entering multiple passwords and eliminates the frustration of having to reset forgotten passwords. Users can access a range of platforms and apps without having to log in each time.
Here are some of the key benefits of using SSO on a business portal:

  1. Increased Productivity: SSO can increase employee productivity by reducing the time they must spend signing on and dealing with passwords¹. Users with just one password to access all of their apps can skip all that extra time spent logging in.
  2. Improved Security: A common myth about SSO solutions is that they compromise systems’ security. However, SSO does away with password fatigue and poor password practices, making your business immediately less vulnerable to phishing. It enables users to focus on memorizing only one strong, unique password.
  3. Decreased IT Costs: SSO can help reduce IT costs, as it reduces the need for password resets.
  4. Improved Job Satisfaction for Employees: With fewer logins to deal with, the experience of using multiple applications becomes smoother, which can lead to improved job satisfaction.
  5. Enhanced Customer Experience: SSO can provide a seamless customer experience as access to multiple applications must be available from any location and device.
  6. Increased Adoption Rates: SSO can lead to increased adoption rates of applications within your organization.
  7. Tighter B2B Collaboration: SSO can enhance collaboration between businesses by making it easier to share access to applications.
  8. Regulatory Compliance: SSO can help your business comply with various national and international regulations.

In summary, SSO can bring about significant improvements in productivity, security, and user experience, making it a valuable addition to any business portal.
